The State Fishery Vessel Inspection Bureau and the Maritime Department of Hong Kong held the first working group meeting on inspection and management of Hong Kong mobile fishing vessels in Guangzhou. At the meeting, the State Fishery Vessel Inspection Bureau informed the representatives of the CPPCC of the opinions and suggestions on the mutual recognition system for mobile fishing vessel inspection. Guangdong Fishery Vessel Inspection Bureau introduced the basic situation of the entrusted inspection and safety supervision of Guangdong mobile fishing vessels. The Hong Kong Maritime Department has explained the "one vessel, two inspections" of mobile fishing vessels and the revision of the "Inspection Certificate". The meeting focused on the inspection and management of mobile fishing vessels between the Mainland and Hong Kong. The meeting discussed the inspection and management of mobile fishing vessels in depth, and put forward mutual recognition opinions and suggestions on "one vessel, two inspections", inspection standards and inspection items. The meeting also exchanged views and suggestions in connection with the commissioned inspection of newly built Hong Kong mobile fishing vessels in Guangxi. After agreeing in principle that Guangxi should go through relevant formalities as required, the commissioned inspection of Hong Kong mobile fishing vessels shall be carried out.

The meeting emphasized that the two sides should take "one vessel, one place, one inspection" as the principle, establish an effective mechanism for mutual recognition of mobile fishing vessel inspection, prevent the occurrence of "one vessel, two inspection" problems, make it convenient and beneficial for the people, further strengthen the entrusted inspection and safety supervision of mobile fishing vessels, and promote cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao in the inspection and management of mobile fishing vessels to a new stage.
